Sherman Sheldon
Sherman SheldonSHERMAN SHELDON Lead Guitar/Vocals
Born and raised on Chicago’s North Side, Sherman was exposed to Country Music at an early age. Strains of Hank Snow and Patsy Cline were prevalent in the Sheldon household. In the late 60’s and early 70’s, Sherman experimented with the popular folk and rock music of the time. After moving to Canada, he began perfecting his guitar chops by re-acquainting himself with the stylings of Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. A stint with Victoria’s Home Brew band gave Sherman the opportunity to experiment with new guitar tonalities, most notably using a volume pedal to model the sound of a steel guitar. Over the past few years, he has divided his time between teaching guitar and touring with acts such as the Pony Club, Prairie Rose and Canadian folk legend, Valdy. He has also managed to find the time to write and publish six instructional books for guitar, with more to come if he can muster the time and energy.

Dave comes from a musical family. His dad was a fine guitar player and singer and several uncles also played an assortment of instruments from guitar to fiddle and mandolin. The music was mainly country and blue grass with the Celtic flavour of the Maritimes thrown in for good measure. Dave spent his teenage years growing up in Montreal during the late 50’ and early 60’s where he first learned to play Ventures tunes. Soon he was turned on to the rock and roll sounds of Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and the Everley Brothers. Then, along came the Beatles and that changed everything. During his last year of high school, Dave discovered Bob Dylan and soon was performing in some of the coffee houses of Montreal, most notably the New Penelope where he frequently opened for such folk artists as Richie Havens, Eric Anderson and Tim Buckley. A brief stint in the army brought Dave to Canada’s west coast. Today Dave lives in Sooke, just outside Victoria. He has been playing in bands and as a solo artist on Vancouver Island since moving here in 1970. He was an original member of Victoria’s popular Nightshift band for many years. He has also played with the late and much loved Tommy “Johnny Cash” Craycroft and the Black Mountain Band and Mr. Puffy, featuring Joyce “the Voice” Allenson. Dave also spent time touring Ontario with the popular club act, Footloose. Dave not only plays music, but is also involved in the music business, having his own artist management company.

Bob Nelson
Bob NelsonBob Nelson Drums/Vocals
For years I have dabbled in the music business. I guess this comes from the fact that for the first 20 years of my working life I worked in our family music store, Nelson's Music.  I have played in a few different bands around Victoria and always enjoyed playing, singing, writing and arranging. While the itch to perform has wained over the years the desire to make music has never really gone.
